I believe the closer gear ratios of the h22 tranny will lower your top speed.

Hence the h22 having a higher redline to compensate for the closer gear ratio's.

When I had my previous f22 5spd I topped out at 140 coming from Daytona Beach. All I had was lowering springs, CAI, and Greddy SP catback exhaust. I had two friends witness it on seperate trips. Yes that's right a 2.2 topping out at 140.

That tranny is not geared for an f22 motor.

One question, why did you swap tranny's with no motor swap?

It'll also wear out the internals of your engine quicker, because you'll constantly be running at higher than normal RPM's.

Oh yeah, welcome to the board.

oh man, that fuckin sucks.I suggest you attach and h22 to that tranny :P. In my 3.0 I've gotten up to about 138 and I was at only 4700 rpms, so I'm guessing that 145 is probably about right for the 3.0. Sorry to hear that man.

i'd rather have a fast car acceleration wise than top speed. The lude tranny gives you a faster quarter time right, deal with the lack of top end.

Most racing is about acceleration, not top speed, so I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.

Oh shit really? I thought it was shaving more like 5 to 6 seconds off the quarter time
Really though, if it makes the car faster on the get up, thats all i would want. If it shaves anytime its worth it to a real racer. I rarely drive past 100+ anyway. When i do its maxing my 3.0 at 140 :P

exactly, i noticed that when i had my f22 tranny it would take me a little longer to reach 105-110 but with the h22 tranz its faster...i might clock my car this weekend

Don't know what your trying to say here
Either way, if i had a 2.3 manual i would convert to the h22 tranny. It meets my acceleration needs more than my barely used need for top speed. AcUrALiTy is happy with it, let him be happy. You have an H22 in your CL dont you? Not everyone can afford the swap, so a tranny mod to make the car a little faster hits the spot for some members.

In addition, someone posted earlier, this could be bad for the engine tho, as the internals are working differntly.
