I got some extra gas...

Alright as some of you may know florida has been under the devils spell for the past couple of weeks with hurricane after hurricane blah blah blah. Well anyways my family bought a generator and we have like 4 (5 gallon) tanks filled up with premium gas. They've been in my garage for about 1 month already in those red plastic containters. I was wondering since im low on gas can I just dump 1 into the CL? Does the gas go bad or anything? Its in some kinda of ventless bottle, with a yellow top.

since it has only been a month, i would say your fine. My parents keep about 30 gallons of gas at their house for their quads, and my dads jeep. Sometimes is 3 months before it gets used....i have used it in my car and have not had any problems....just personal experience though....

Yeah it is fine. As long as the caps are on tight, and hasn't gone thru many season changes. What happens is that condensation can get into it and be diluted a little. Also gas tends to break down over time (Reason for the fuel stabilizer that they sell for classic cars that aren't driven much.

No it's not going to blow up. It will just catch fire and then blow up after that. Just kidding. If the car is outside that gas will evaporat and you should be fine. If it's in the garage leave the door caracked over night. Don't smoke around it is you do smoke.

heheh i like ur sense of humor...this is off topic but why are you suppose to turn off your car at the gas stations? My friend leaves his car on every time and I always tell him to turn it off. Anyone know exactly why?

just from the fumes and the heat and spark your car produces. they also say not to get back into your car then go back out. you can generate static electricity that will spark on the filler tube, hit the fumes and

it should be fine, but you can also buy some type of fuel additive specifically for old fuel if you're worried. go to autozone and ask them
