The best way to tell is to run a car fax report. This will tell you about milage reports at emissions. Im not sure what the emissions laws report in Canada.

Other ways to tell are wear and tear on the car. If its got 50k and the drivers seats all cracked you should suspect something. Do you know how many miles the car has right now on the ODO?

is their a way to check with the tranny or ecu? i thought u could check the mileage that way. I can be hard to tell by wear and tear somethimes between 120 000 kms (75k miles) or 220 000 kms (136 miles).

Who says that the odometer has to be rolled back? I know people that have instructions for turning off the odometer at the flick of a switch on a CL. All you need is the manual, the switch and a soldering kit.

Without actually showing you, all I can say is check to make sure that there aren't any cut wires underneath your dash, left side. Or switches connected to the wires that aren't factory.

You know you can also just pull one of the wire harness from the back of the gauge cluster and that would also do it.

The only problem with that is you lose the use of the other guages. Also, you would have to take the guage cluster out to do it. I'm talking about a switch that basically turns the guages on and off.
