How to reset the Music system code

Hi Guys,

98 2.3cl

I did some thing stupid , instead of using the OBD scanner to reset the codes in the computer memory of my car I unhooked the battery. This also wiped out the Music system code. Since it is my wife's car and now I use it she does not have, nor does she remember the code. I even called up the dealer where she bought the vehicle even they don't have the code.

My question is Is there a way that you can reset the factory music system without the code??? or is there some other way of tracing/ finding the code. Has some one out there faced similar problem???

Thankx
Javed

Its easy, take out the head unit. Unbolt everything from it, look under it. There should be a sticker with a serial number. Call up the local Acura dealer and tell them you need them to look up your radio code, give em the serial number and they'll read the code to you.

If you pull out the unit and read the "serial number" off of the unit a dealer should be able to look it up on thier "network". You may need Identification for yourself and prove you own the car.
PM me if you have any troubles

They'll also probably charge you $50 which could go towards a new radio

Hi SwervinCL, nice french I really appreciate your help, the first thing I did was search the forum before I posted this request as I was not able to pull any thing up.

I guess we are all grown up here and would really like some decent language. I totally respect every one on this forum and also know that whom so ever is on this forum is enough computer suavy to know how to do searchs and find solutions on the net.

Thank You all for your feedback, the code on my car was in the fuse box cover under the hood I used it and successfully decodede the car stero. But any ways went ahead and bought a new Head unit and am also replacing all the speakers. I bought the "BOSS" head unit which mentions 80x4 watts of peak power output coupled with Absolute 6.5" and Sony xplode 6x9"...how is this config will this work...i Guess so??? total $$$ spend was around $200 including shipping. Just hope that it works.

Thanks Again
Javed

It was not really directed at you persay. It just gets annoying when the same questions get asked over and over and over and over and over x 10000000....

BTW, any reason you went with the Boss deck? If your on a budget, then cool. But not exactly a quality product. But I hope you have luck with it.

I searched for it when I needed my code, and found it. Just takes some time, but usually gets your answer faster than waiting for people to reply to a new topic.

Hi,

The only specific reason for the BOSS was the output without hooking up an Amp, it states 4X80watts and that is the max that I found in most of the head units...I don't know if there are any other out there with more output rating.

Thanks
Javed
