Talking How Much??

Since Now that I have my other Job I can now start putting sums of money into my car now . I have a summer project of doing a J32 swap from the TL, and I called the guy and they said it would be about $2075USD shipped. Is that a reasonable price for that engine? I know there is going to be a lot of extra cost because it's not going to be a COMPLETELY clean swap. (no job is like that).*Also why I labeled it a SUMMER project.

*Also another quick question, would the wire harness be the same because they are both V-tech Engines?? Also I wont need a new tranny right off the gate will I? Just trying to clear up my further questions so I'm not worried about buying anything that isn't necessary at the moment! Because I want to do the swap, but also save up more money to invest in a new tranny later on. Any answers to these questions will be appreciated Thanks!

That's a good idea, except for the fact that finding a totalled 07 is impossible... UNLESS you wrecked it yourself. I can see it now, he'll show up at his local acura dealership and act out a destruction derby race in their parking lot with their cars, ask to test drive one and back into a mdx 07 at top speed in reverse, that should do it. Or you could borrow a friends car and ram to it with their car. Personally I'd do that latter i'd rather lose a friend than have to pay for 2 totalled new cars.

I did my h22 swap in my cb7 myself and it was completely clean.

I would go with an h22 and do a manual swap. way more potential to grow with later down the road.

um no the h22 doesn't easily fit where the j32 easily fits, oh and the J32 is a v6 260hp, I'd take that over an h22 anyday.

Nah, I wanna do something DIFFERENT the h22 swap to me is played. Dont get me wrong it;s a nice project and it has a lot of potential. But this is different. Yes the J32A2 is about 260 which is a lot more than a stock h22. This h22 swap is way to played out and used. But a J32A2 swap would be sick because not a lot of people do it!

Ask me the questions in order, it'll make my life easier than breaking down that paragraph.

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
etc...

Please make them detailed so you dont leave me guessing...and please tell me you have a 3.0 to begin with, cause the mounting points will be no where near the same if you're a 2.2/2.3.

Actually a lot of people are doing it too, v 6 p has several members doing it or that have done it, so I guess it's a "played out" swap too

its not played out in the 4cyl body because its the cool thing to do. its used alot because its the best motor swap availble for the Accord/CL 4cyl body.

1. Good price, it's what is expected to pay for these.
2. You can use your 3.0 tranny, but the wiring will have to be integrated into the CLS wiring. That's how we did mine. You're using the CLS ecu right? Make sure the Crank Positioning Sensor matches the ECU you use.
3. Depends on the shop and how much of a broad knowledge they really have on starting with no answers.
