I have the same alternator. I've had it for over a year, and it runs great. It's definitely more amperage than stock, but it will help if you're running an amp or other high-drain electronics.

Thanks dust, hey did you replace cuz it went out or just for your system? The whining under the hood is annoying. (worse than my shorty ram...j/k) Ill try belt dressing, but the belts look pretty good.

Just wonderin, why you replaced

I replaced my alternator ONLY for the power increase. I was having a noticeable power drain when at idle (stereo, amp, a/c, headlights, etc.) was causing the gauges to dim. Once I ungraded to the 180-amp, no more dimming!

Installation was pretty easy. It's a tight squeeze getting the alternator to fit between the engine and radiator, but with persistence, it will fit.

note that the alternator is hard to fit like dust said but with time and patience, remember you dont want to force it and break a blade, remember that the pulley on the new alt. is smaller than the stock on so you need to switch them out or hey get a new belt to fit it like i did, i think it was 2-4mm smaller but check it out. i recommend getting the number from ebay or somewhere where they sell them, i cant remember the guys name but he is locate4d in texas. i payed $197 and change and that included shipping. so go for it and you will benifit from the dimming and your car will be alot happier.
