take off the piece below the steering wheel column

there is 2 skrews holding in the trim around the guages that the dimmer for your lights is on, the screws should be on the top part so look up

then i think there is 4 screws holding in the guages the whole cluster if im not mistaken its beena while, you will need a skinny set of hands you will need to disconnect the harness from the back of the cluster and there are 3 of them and then all you do is disassemble the cluster and put the guages on

BUT BE VERY CAREFUL, with age the needles are VERY fragile so take it VERY slow

to power them up i wireed it to the power wire for the cluser and you can find this by finding or going to acura or someone on here for teh wiring scematics for the cluster wires or get a test light and test the wires to see when you touch it when the light comes on youve got power and then splice and there ya go

reassemble it and put it back in and enjoy

hope this helps

Joe

So let me get this straight, I take out the two screws ...that are located on top.
After that.....i take out the cruise control switch with a screwdriver. Then i take out the dimmer switch by hand. Then the plastic should pop out?

and then after that.....how do i install the gauges?

remove all the black screws already on the gauges

the gauges should overlay the stock..bend them so the can slide ..be extra careful with the needles...im serious..

remove the 3 or 4 lights in the back....wont be able to see them with your new gauges....they should have a blue rubber cap on them....they are 194 or so

then feed the all the wires out of the back using the new holes

leave the ones on the top so you can see your odometer

like this genius said....

since i did that...i can dim the odometer as much as i want and also ajust the brightness of the gauges separately

get a really small flat head screwdirver there are little tabs on the dimmer/cruisecontrol on the bottom.. then you'l have to reach for the clips to unplug them and it will loosen the black piece greatly

splice the dimmer switch for power

dont snip the wire, just peel off the coating on the +/- wires for the dimmer switch and either T-tap them together or use electric tape

There really is a thread on this... Also, why not get another dimmer so you can adjust the brightness.

i only put it there cause anywhere else would be expensive as hell if i wanted to remove it, or would look ghody.. its kind of discreete where it is. besides when i get my 15" L7's ill need somewhere to mount my amp knob.

but yea im kind of tired of the white faced guages look. i had to turn them all the way down to where they are barley glowing to get any kind of a they came stock with the car look. i think im gonna go with the black light up top thing.. itll make the needles glow a nice bright orange, and the numbers light up all crazy. someone else here on this board has done it, and i thought it looked tight.
