1st gens never had hid as an option lol

do you have an hid kit? if so, you'll need 9006 bulbs

d2r and d2s bulbs are used for oem hid systems, while ours are equipped with halogen

Our bulbs are 9006, you don't have HID's unless you have an aftermarket kit. Flip and I have d2s, because we retro'd our headlights, but the CL's only take 9006

Yea, i have the same in my car, i had to retro as well. The lights are mad bright. I had to make a small roof off of hard carton on top of the ballasts because one day it rained and somehow the drops of rain fell between the crack of the hood, inside the ballast and fried the ballast. So i had to get a new one of ebay.

I'm planning on getting some HID's when i get my CL (which will hopefully be tomorrow), once u go HID, you don't go back. I love mine in my legend.

op, just get 9006's and call it a day.

Its always a good idea with HID's to get a good warranty. I got a lifetime warranty with mine, and i had to get a new bulb and a balast (the two were unrelated events), both my fault, warranty covered both, no questions asked. i think mine in the legend are OTTO. I got them thru another forum member (acura-legend.com) I can give u guys his email, if anyone is interested.

warranties are important, and it's true once you go HID you never go back

i bought the wrong kit. i bought a kit with d2r bulbs. What will be the difference in getting D2r bulb rather then 9006 bulbs? Also can i use the same ballast used for the D2r bulbs with the 9006 bulb? thanks

you need to get the d2r's rebased to a 9006, which costs $$$ and isnt really worth it. The ballasts might not work with 9006 HID "kit" bulbs because the connectors are different.
