help problems starting
i was searching threads and found out some people had similar symptoms to mine but im not sure if i have the same problem... After sitting for a while (more than an hour) my car is hard to start, it starts up but then idles low and sounds like its having problems idling. i have to give it gas and then after a few seconds it just kicks in and its fine. when im driving theres no problems at all. its the hardest to start when i wake up in the morning. could it be the fuel pump? i just replaced the filter because i was having the similar symptoms im haivng now. it was fine for about 3 weeks then it started again. car's goin in tomorrow, not sure to tell them what to check out really? fuel pump isn't a cheap fix...i want rims! thanks... :'(

has to do with the fuelinjectors not getting proper prime until u hit the gas. more likley the fuel pump. but could be as simple as the gas cap. yes the gas cap. try tightning it down a little tighter. push in on it as u tighten it.

cold start valve sounds like something on a diesel. i think our car uses the iacv, idle air control valve which is located just below the t/b. has some coolant lines attatched to it for thermal detection. but a faulty iac would cause irratic idling. repeated reving of the engine.
