I have a 1998 2.3 CL and today when I got off work my window won't roll up. I took off the door and the cable that lifts up the window...there's slack on it when I try to roll it up. I called around a few places and they said it might be the regulator.

P.S. I did a search on this topic but all I found was people talking about getting it fixed. Those of you that got it fixed...was this the problem you guys were experiencing? Does anyone know what it could be?

Yep, most likely the regulator. Seems to be a common problem with these cars. I've already gone thru one on the driver's side door and the second is now exibiting the same symptoms. Eventually it will go....if you order the part, maybe you can install it yourself. Good luck

 

I went through the same problem as VitaminCL. My driver side window went all the way down and never came back up and nw my passanger side is actin up. All honda/acura have the same problem. If you dont want to do it yourself its best to just bring it to the dealer (hopefully your covered under warantee).

 

how much is the part??? my drivers side has had the problem for hte longest time; and I have just let it go; (rather spend the mony on soemthing else) but hte passenger side is fine.

how ez is it to install the part. more importantly; where can i get hte part?? only from the dealer? and whats the cheapest you guys have found it to be??? thanx guys.

 

well mines was covered under warantee. So i really didnt know the price, but i think it runs somewhere between 100-200.

 

my waranty was gone long time ago; bought the car in 96; first 3.0 CL sold at that particular dealership. its now running STRONG 5+ years later @ 81k miles.

 

Do a search on window regulator. RidinLow posted a thread on how he fixed it himself for very little $$$$.

I've had 4 replaced under warranty. You can also search for the threads I've created/responded to. I posted a price list of how much the part costs.

 

I appreciat all your guys' help. I already got it fixed. Luckily my friend got a CL (that was totalled) and he helped me out. Being in Hawaii it rains a lot here good thing it just sprinkled. If anyone wants stock parts let me know.
