Help me Self Diagnose my CEL light
i searched it up and there were to many different variations as to what to do to self diagnose the car when the CEL light comes up
i dont know the reason of the CEL i just was driving and it just poped up no problems that i can notice yet.
i reset my ECU with the battery trick and the CEL went off and it just comes back after a while.
i drive a 1998 3.0CL and i wanna know how people self diagnosed there car
i would really appreciate comments from people who have experience doing this to their 3.0CL's not just 3rd person reading experiences , but anything would help

i learned to self diagnose myself and it came up 5 flash's so that means my MAP sensor is shitting
looks like i have to get a new MAP sensor the only problem is exactly which one is my MAP sensor?
by the tottlre body theres one sensor on top and one of the side and a few electrical lines going around below im not sure which is the MAP sensor that i have to replace
im also going to head to autozone and reassure myself that my diagnosis was right so i dont buy an MAP sensor for nothing

for those of you who have CEL experience with the testing machine do you use the port behind the coin holder thing in the center dash ?
like if you pull out the holder theres a place to put a line is that what was used?
because my autozone does not test for free i have to give a down payment of 200 dallors and it will be returned to me when i return the OBD tester

The 16-pin connector behind the ashtray is the obd2 connector. It will help to get the obd2 code as there are three Obd2 code variations of Honda OBD code 50, P0101, P0102, and P0103 for range/performance, Low Input, and High Input respectively. All codes are mass air flow sensor faults. It could be a wiring fault, but that is less likely than a sensor fault.

it is the one on the headers. not the one attatched to the cat. its easy to change. just unplug it and remove it with a 7/8 wrench. but use the closed end of the wrench. or you will strip it out. reverse for installation. just like a spark plug. good luck pimpin.

It may help to warm the engine for perhaps 1 minute to warm the manifold before removing the O2 sensor. A small amount of anit-sieze on the threads will ease any future removals.

Front and rear are usually the same O2 sensor, however the harness connector may be different, and the length of the lead may be different leading to problems in swapping.
You can purchase a universal O2 sensor, but you'll have to rewire your old connector the loose wire ends of the O2 sensor harness. You will need a wiring diagram to indicate which wires to connect.
Otherwise you should try to purchase the exact sensor for your purpose.
good luck
