Do any of you know if COmptech headers from a 00 CL or accord will fit a 99 3.0 CL? I know comptech have different part # for the 99 3.0 and the 2nd gen CL but what's the difference?

you can get the obx headers for about 300-400
pm rick he just got those in his car.

 

thanks, but i heard he had to bend the pipe a little to fit. But i need comptech because i live in LA and need the Carb # to pass smog

 

I've heard that the 98-02 Accord headers have been installed on a 1st Gen CL.

I contacted Comptech, and they said "NO"!

I recommend going with the CL application.

When I was looking for headers back in Aug/Sept, I also saw a number of used Comptechs from the 98-02 Accord. I couldn't pass them up, and almost bought a set. I contacted Comptech, and they mentioned that the downpipe has a different bend.

As it turns out, it was no different than the "custom" bend I made on the OBX headers I bought for the 98-02 Accord/CL-S/TL-S.

The pipe coming down from the rear header won't fit around the oil pan. But with a 1" bend, it fit's just fine.

I wouldn't recommend doing this on a $1000+ set of Comptechs. But, on a $350 set of OBX headers, I thought it was worth the risk (and it worked great).

I know they make them. I was just asking because people are selling used ones for a good price but they're for the 98+ accords or 2gen CLs. Just wanted to knwo if they'll fit on a first gen CL.

 

oh ok.. sorry i misunderstood... and NO the will not.. non of them.. 2nd gens defintely not.. accords only with modifications!!!
