alright here you go, looking at how it works exactly i don't really know what could be wrong, my best guess is that the little plastic thing(which holds the rod in the arm of the handle) broke and the rod just popped out of the hole. If that's not the case tho it seems it would be kinda complicated, as the section where the rods are connected to the actual part on the door that opens is all covered up, therefore i have no idea how it works in there.

This one shows how far the rod goes into the hole, not very far, but really snug in there due to the plastic cover part holding it

This one shows what position the rod and arm of the handle are in when it's in the normal position

And here is what postions those parts are in when you go to open the door(sorry this one looks blurry, couldn't get it to focus for some reason)

hope ths helps, but to figure it what is really wrong on yours and to fix it, you'll need to take that door panel off....... eventually
and goodluck

i thought you would take them off anyways if you're gonna repaint them, which seems like a lot of trouble. I think it looks so much cleaner with less emblems but i kinda did like the look of the shiney ass emblems, but to each their own. And as far as the corners go, don't worry, if you fuck up, you can always buy smoked ones off ebay

^ hahaha true, but i dont know man, i really dont wana take it off and then have the headache of putting them bak all lined up and shit. so imma use my artist skills and slowly black out the emblems in the back, and as far as the grill goes, shouldnt be a problem since its a bigger piece.

oh and good luck trying to paint those emblems, i hate even trying to dry my car around where the emblems are (if i had any i mean)

your going to try to paint your badges and grill without taking them off?

Yeah, thats half risky. I'd take them off just to make sure you dont touch the paint on your car. If you do, make sure to do it right though, the previous owner of my car had no sweet clue how to tie his own shoes...check out the debadging job he did on my car

Now I'm stuck with the outline of the badges until I paint my car I suppose. Anyone know of a why to clean that up? I've tried numerous wipes/goo gone and similar products. :thumbsdow

Then again, maybe that was just the amount the paint had faded and he couldnt help that?

just take them off, use tape to mark where the badges were. dont half ass painting badges. it's like the easiest shit you can do to your car. Debadge then reapply with 3M double sided mounting tape.

Buff and wax should take care of most of that, doesnt seem like theres any paint chipping so it should be fine.

^agreed, try a polish with a buffer, or just look for the threads about failed debaging and get some advice from there
btw it looks like the paint underneath the badges are way better than the rest of the paint on your trunk

That's clean paint underneath, you need to get the rest of your paint to the same condition, looks like hazing in the pics, I would def use an abrassive polish and try to buff down that haze, also may want to claybar it before you wax to try and clean the paint as much as possible, I have shadows like that, but you can't see them as long as there is a coat of wax/polish on the car.

You're allowed to link to a sale thread, just not start new threads about it, and since it's not even your sale, you're good to go

My door isn't shutting right, I have to basically slam it shut every time I get out of the car. The handle on the inside tends to stick in the open position also so I have to make sure the doors lock. Do you think it's something that could be adjusted?
