dicorp, if you think about it the solara is a competitor with the CL, the solara being a camry coupe, and the CL essentially being an accord coupe. the engine in this solara is a 3.0, the same engine i had in my avalon. strong engine.

IMO, the car is a little bit girly. it has an automatic when he was ultimatley looking for a manual, but his clutch knee is giving him trouble so its best if he has an auto.

he bought it today, after the guy selling the lexus couldnt decide whether or not to sell it. i was disappointed cause a lexus sc400 in the driveway would be sick, but its his car so if hes happy im happy. its better then the lexus because its a v6 rather then a v8, and it doesnt need to use premium. then again, he paid twice as much for the solara then he would have for the SC.
too bad you didnt get the SC, but its gonna be cheaper to maintain for sure.

i've driven a solara, and i couldnt say it that much inferior to the 1st gen. If anything, it's a Toyota not an Acura that is supposed to be Honda's upscale division.

So if anything, its the CL that dissappoints as luxury brand car rather than the Solara.

i highly doubt he'll do anything to it unless i buy it for him. the camry was missing a hubcap a while ago and it looked like shit with 3 hubcaps, and he didnt even care. i had to go out and buy him a new set of hubcaps.

Freaking rolled in at around 6:30am from the underground bars and the whore house. My head......good times...

I'm contiplating on whether or not to start another whore house thread in ramblings. As entertaining as it is, I don't know how the moderators will react this year

CL's in the shop, so I got to drive the TL up to school today - I love that car. Only thing that bothers me about it is there's less input from the steering wheel. It makes it much more comfortable to drive, but I like feeling what's going on.

Hey in that recently closed thread about the advantages between a boosted F or an H series, how about throwing the j30 into the mix? Which of the H-J would be the ultimate engine? I mean, assuming you reinforce the H's fiberesque inside and get a bulletproof tranny on the J... I'm sure this has been covered before, but at least i'm not starting a new thread about it

for all you noobs who think painting your calipers red is cool. just DONT do it!! because when you wake up one day and realize how gay and corny it looks and decide to switch to a silver color. you wont be able too!!

so either just plain dont do it. or paint them black if you dont want red anymore.

haha thats pretty much what i've been saying.......red looks good if it stays. but most of the time it just gets nasty and flaky.

unless they're powdercoated red with the word brembo on them, red calipers are tacky on any car other than red imo

does that mean u guys hate my red calipers? hahah

i agree though, think its over played, and looks tacky.

but when i did my wheels white with the red A, i decided that it would look good. and i still think it looks good, but any other situation i would have to say go with another color.
