Well my bose system finally crapped out on me and spit the infamous 'p-eo' screen of death yesterday. Time to upgrade. Going to get the following pioneer model:

My question is....for the wiring harness to upgrade to an aftermarket headunit while retaining the stock bose speaker/amp functionality, which one of the two following would work:

http://sonicelectronix.com/item_5952_PAC+ADD-HON.html

http://sonicelectronix.com/item_11181_PAC+AOEM-HON.html

Obviously one is 3 times more expensive than the other, but will both get the job done? Will I notice a huge difference in sq between the two? Also, will I need a special cage to fit the headunit in the stock din spot?

Thanks in advance!

I dunno what to say because both say to ADD or REPLACE factory amplifier, I really see nothing about integration......... this is kinda where im liking my brothers stupid old Celica, all it did was have the main wire harness plug bet except for speaker out leads it had RCAs instead and all the other usual pieces, it cost the same as any other plain wiring harness, pluged in and off it went...... I suppose these might work in the same way... but im not too sure

get these:

install harness will let you wire the deck into the oem system.
install plate let's you mount the deck in, or you can jsut strap the OEM pocket to the bottom of the deck however you feel.

please be aware the BLOWS, i mean BOSE system will probably sound like shit with the pioneer deck hooked up, they're old speakers that didn't get much power all their lives.

if i'm wrong someboady correct me. i pretty much bypassed the entire BLOWS system in my car, but when i had the rear speakers in and they were hooked up they worked fine, sounded lousy, but worked.

the 94-97 accord harness works, but you have to bypass the amp

omg you're right dude, I'm such a bonehead haha thanks

here are some correct links:

So let me get this straight: with the above harness, the stock bose amps and speakers should still work with the new headunit (but just wont sound that great)? That's perfectly fine with me, as all I want is to have a cd player back and not dump much money into this thing.

Although, I also found the following, and now I'm utterfly confused:
