H22 swap vs modding...

Would you swap an H22 in a 2.2, or would you just mod the motor already in there? It would cost probably like 2k to swap the motor, but 2 k for mods is quite a bit. What would you do? Just wanting something to think about.

The other obvious benefit to h22 is you can build it out of your car, then just drop it in and it'll bolt right up

trying to squeeze a turbo kit out of 2g's is going to be rough bro...

the manifold / turbo / oil feed lines / exhaust plumbing i.e down pipes / waste gate / exhaust assuming yoru stock/ fueling / hard pipes / bov / Tuneing depends on who you have it done with and waht you use to tune...

the H22 is the better bang for the buck because its a straight up better plat form 2g's for a swap if you can get the resources right, will net you better gains for less money, and alot of potential over the F series turbo swap.

The h22 will also be more reliable then a boosted F22/23 if your looking at daily use.

people talking about it is playing the h22 out... haha... some people should just jump on it and see for themselves what the difference is! although it's a nit much just to "try" it out... but then u'll never wanna go back... obviously.

HAsport has mounts... http://www.hondatuningmagazine.com/t...a_accord-swap/
I'm surprised nobody has seen this article before,.. seems like a pretty straight forward swap to me,. a little on the costly side though, plus you'd probably have to get HAsport to custom make another set of mounts... but nevertheless, it has been done, not in a CL but in it's very close sibling

You can piece a turbo for our car together between new and used parts for anywhere from 1700-$2500, the torque from our car is made for a turbo, and you won't have to do much, if any, building work to the motor, you can pretty much slap on the turbo if your compression rates are good. Liek most others have said, keep the F if you want to turbo, or grab the H22 if you dont.

Or be incredibly original and get a K series motor...(if your made of money)

for the cost of buying a K20 then having it put in a CL...

you might aswell pull the F22/23b1 and build the block and make it a turbo monster

If you're willing to put in the time and effort, piecing together a turbo kit for the f22 will get you better results for what you pay than the H22 swap. If you've only got 2k to spend, you'll have to cut some corners if you want to go turbo so it probably won't be reliable.

i dont get the whole idea of something being objectively "played out"
isn't calling something "played out" a less accurate description of your ultimate disinterst in it?
granted, a person may get sick of a style, idea, or possession; but that doesn't objectively make that style, idea, or possession "played out"
you're trying to apply your own subjective opinion on an object as a description of that object's true nature
