First Gen CL - What's your mileage?

I'm looking to see how many miles other first gen. CL owners have on their cars. My '97 3.0 has 192K, and she's still on her original tranny, etc. I'm at the point where I'm thinking of letting her go. Anyone care to comment?

My 97 3.0CL has 149,xxx miles on it. Still has it's original tranny I'm pretty sure.

Are you getting any problems with your tranny? You might wanna sell it now before you start having problems.

99 3.0, at about 107 k; still on first transmission. It's in great shape, plan on keeping it at least a few more years.

The reason why I made specific mention of the original transmission is b/c I remember when I first bought the car, C&D mentioned in its review that the tranny was fine, though it seemed as if it were to get "confused" when seaching for the right gear to be in. This past week when at the dealer I questioned the reliability of the transmission. The service rep said that it was his understanding that the older tranny in the 1st gen CL was solid, whereas the electronically controlled tranny in the 2nd gen CL was causing problems.b

I'm a little curious to know why so many 1st Gen CL's are on rebuilds already. I'm not a guy who makes mods to my car. It's all stock since new, and I am religious when it comes to changing the tranny fluid.

But let me say this - I have been pondering the idea of selling the car, just b/c with two kids in car seats it isn't that practical for me to keep anymore. I'm not gonna make a big deal of it right now, but if anyone's interested, please let me know.

I don't understand why all the rebuild trannys
Is it that people aren't replacing the fluid in time? Or are some owners playing Speed Racer with the shifter, and throwing the gears out of whack?

Is it more prevalent in the 2.X, or is it more in the 3.0? I don't know if the tranny's are different between the two - but they probably are).

It's about as common on the 2.x, people get them rebuilt as well, however the higher torque from the 3.0 has something to do with it. At least that's what my shop told me because one of the main components that was bad on my tranny was the torque convertor

190,000 Original Transmission.

Just like the OP I cycle the tranny oil about 5 times a year. That is the only reason im still on my original transmission.

Ohh, and just for the fun of it... 3.0>2.x
