F**king window regulator!

I knew it was only a matter of time before it happenned to me, and sure enough...last night my passenger side window regulator cable snapped. Pain in the ass, plus the new one wont be in until next wednesday. It's going to be a fun week of not driving my cl.

How much have you guys paid for new regulators? Just curious. I ordered mine from an acura dealership for 130.

You can get them on eBay for $75.00.

Here's an example: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33706

You should of asked before you ordered you regulator. The link the Dust gave, 1A auto, offers lifetime warranty. They've saved my ass twice already.

no but you should continually put silicone lubricant in the seams, when your window starts to slow down thats when you have to be concerned when its gonna break, i keep lubricating mine every now and then

i didnt have a hard time getting it out at all. four screws and a bunch of clips hold the door panel on. then the regulator and motor are held in by a total of maybe 6 screws....not too bad at all.

Would I need to pull off the inner door panels to lubricate it?

nope. Just do the part that the window rests against furthest toward the back of the car. That rubber thing is the reason our regulators die (or so the a-cl theory goes). It provides friction and slows the regulator causing it to overwork and die. Fucking seal...anyway. Just put some silicone lubricant on it every now and then and it'll keep going up and down fairly quick.

Just buy some white lithium grease from an auto shop and use the straw to spray the tracks. If you spary enough, it will run down the length of the tracks.

no just do it by the top of the doors in the seams, just gotta get a silicone spray and use (best to use that red straw that comes with wd-40 cans) and spray in between the all around, after i did this my windows rolled up hella fast
