i plan on going FI this summer and getting a whole new catback exhaust. I wanna get something somewhat quieter than my magnaflow. I plan on 3in mandrel bent piping back, and maybe going to a stock muffler.

so my question is: how restrictive is the stock muffler? would it be fine for my setup or should i go find something else?

 

you've told us nothing about your turbo setup
so how do expect your questions to be answered?

get your build first. then worry about exhaust. but just for ideas:
3" high flow cat, 3" piping, a resonator and a muffler of your choice would work just fine.

 

the piping on our stock mufflers is smaller then 3". id say its pretty restrictive to say the least.. not to mention there about 6 feet long and weigh 200 lbs.

 

Um, search man, research, your stock exhaust is only 2.25" which means the inlet to your muffler is only that big, 3" to 2.25" is not gonna work. Do some reading my man

Why do you want to go from 3" piping to your stock 2.25" muffler? Doesn't make any sense..

 

im tired of loud exhausts.

 

look for mufflers like the Apex-i ws2 or Greddy sp2, or a vibrant muffler. I'm not sure which one it is but i know they carry a performance muffler specifically to be quieter than usual

 

i don't think your current setup is even remotely loud.

 

then get a good sized resonator. Your stock muffeler is just gonna bottleneck the flow.

Psh, maybe its just me, but if I had a turbo i'd run loud and proud. (and hope nobody jacks my shit)

And the stock muffler? You crazy boy? Why do you think its so quiet? It's a tad on the very restrictive side.

haha thats kinda what I want. I want an exhaust that sounds nice when i try, and is reasonable quiet too.. so i can sneak out :p

 

thats what im looking for. something relatively quiet when driving normally, but loud when i want it to be and vtec kicks in

 

i want my exhaust to sound like the g35s...
cant hear them at cruise speeds....but wen u smash in them u can hear it.
