Is there a vibration associated with it. Or is it just a noice. Also is it a ticking noise possibly. Also can you tell what side of the car its comming from.

If you start to accelerate at low RPM's you will feel the car shake.

Start off reving at a higher RPM. Maybe it'll fix the problem. Let us know what's up.

I think i know wat u talking about, it might be ur cat cover that is loose. A lot of Clers on this board have it or had it. Most muffler places can either replace it or do something to keep it from vibrating.

Yeah, there is a cover over it usually. If it is still on there. That is the problem I have, i probably do it later on. For me on my auto, it makes the sound when I am at 2000 rpm. Then goes away.

It depends on how good of a job you want them to do.

1) remove the cover, probably lots of cutting and rethreading, this is a bit time consuming. It depends on how much rust you have and how stuck the cover is.

2) You can just have them rip it off. It not really a too good of an idea, because there is a chance if u drive over something like grass or wood, u can set it on fire or it might fall off or get damaged. I had a crappy car before and did this for a year with no problems, but I am not responsible!!!

3) Or you can have them kinda figure out some way to take out the rust and try to weild or rescrew some spots to keep it from moving.

I personally is going to do #1 but the guy said it an about an hour charge + the cover. The previous owner got brand new piping done and everything. It looks spotless, but the damn cat cover looks like was untouched, is like super rusted, he probably did that due to cost.

it is your heat sheild, just rip it off and be done with it. I park on grass at least once a week and have no issues. If you tighten it up it will only come loose again. Most hondas and acura have this problem eventually jsut rip it off they arent necessary. My vette sits like 3 inclhes off the gorund i have no heat shields at all on that either and no problems and that get a lot hotter than my cl which i already ripped the cl's off of.
