DRL Problem

Hi I've got a 97 3.0 and I'm having a problem with my Daytime Running lamps, it seems that the indicator on the dash is on and my DRL's are not functioning a secondary problem related to this is that my passenger side High Beam is not working, what gives? I've check the fuse and it is fine and I replaced the passenger side High Beam but to no avail. Has anyone else had this sort of problem? Initially the DRL's would kinda turn on after I drove the car for a bit but now they won't turn on at all.

Thanks.

yup, canada has to have them. If you check on your fuse box by the driver sides feet you will see that there is a fuse for the drl, but is block off if you have an american model.

1997 CL 3.0 did you check both fuse compartments? one on the engine bay and the other on the drivers feet?

Does that mean we could have DRL if we get a fuse and someone unblock it?

it might be the wiring harness for the lights but in that case all of them shouldnt go out just the brights or the running lights not both doublecheck the fuses

yes the DRL Modual a grey bix top of driver's feet underneath the steering column is faulty
after 10 years the solder on the DRL kit cracks and sometimes is turns on and if u hit a bump or if it gets cold it stops working ..
to fix .. either buy a new one from honda for around 200 or take the old one out of its housing .. find the solder points that are cracked and re solder and ur good as new

just unplug the DRL. who needs their lights on during the day anyways?

Besides it's probably a cheap ticket if you get caught anyways.

Anybody know if Honda uses a standard relay?

I have a CRX Parts car with DRL. I don't want to spend $200..

I may just unplug, hoping it will work as normal without the relay

the relays are pretty universal as far as I know, the only thing may be the wiring harnesses are different, depending on how it's wired

check fuse if its ok you need to locate under the dash (close the steering column and behind the temp sensor) and open up the relay to solder some weak/broken solders...VERY COMMON...
