Does remote start mess up a stick car?

Hey everyone, I'm planning on gettin a new alarm system soon as was looking into the Viper 550 esp w/ remote start. But some people are telling me that remote start with a stick car is bad, why is that? Also i think with the 550 esp, there no remote trunk release, which i need. How much does it cost to add that feature on usually? Any other recomendations? i need a good cheap alarm. thanks again

it does work the problem with stick is that if you leave the car in gear and the car starts it might move and drive a little and hit something

Yeah, remote start on a strick requires the clutch to be bypassed. Therefore, if you left it in gear, your car can lunge forward (or reverse) when it tries to crank.

For a remote start on a manual, most of the one's out there have a safety mechanicsm that won't allow the car to start if its in gear. Its by default because its also used for automatics, if for some reason you left your auto in gear and tried to start it.

it can be done but as far as i know most shops wont b/c it may be illegal---at best they could be sued---i had a friend who got pinned in between cars because of this very thing---broke both her legs--and she sued the guy and the installer
