discovered something
so its been raining a shitload here and i didnt want to wear out the 4 somewhat shitty l.e.d.s for my parking lights...so i ran to the store to buy just plain 168 bulbs and for the first time, i noticed sylvania's silverstar series now includes the 168 bulbs AND the brake/tail light for our cars which I have never seen until today...random but i thought it be interesting for people to see

Someone posted this a while back, personally I've lost all respect for silverstars since they have such a short lifespan, granted I have 6 silverstars on my 4runner, but once they burn out, I'm throwing my HID kits back on it

i mean i agree...the headlights do burn out quickly...but as far as the silverstar turn signals ive had for over a year, its been good...ill have to see how long all the others will last.

no matter what bulb you install (outside LEDs) you are not ment to touch the glass. the oils on your skin shorten the life of the bulb by a lot. you use toilet paper to install. it will help

I've never touched any silverstars that I installed, they just didn't last long. If you look at the life expectency graph on the box, they have a 1 compared to other bulbs that are a 5

silverstar doesn't exactly hide the fact they that dont last long, I still buy them, simply because they work so well. $50 every year or two really isn't that bad for the level of safety it provides.
