Shaving and debadging are 2 different things. Debadging is just taking off the 2.2/2.3/3.0 (which ever one you have) and the "CL". The "A" leaves a hole where the 2 prongs sticks into to hold the "A" onto the car.
If you have the money, definitely shave 'em. People have a hard enough time trying to figure out what kind of car we have. If you shave it they will have an ever harder time.

Personally, I don't like the "de-badged" look.
I also don't like the First Gen badges.
So, I went with the 2nd Gen badges. Definitely different than most First Gens I see in my area.

However, I'm seriously thinking of removing my "3.0CL" badge. The only reason I haven't done so is because it cost me $35.00 for it (gold)!!!!
