2.2ac is a jackass, he just messaged me about how retarded i am for asking if the window lock is on.

His exact words were "YOU MUST THINK I'M A FUCKIN IDIOT. NO THE FUCKIN LOCK ISN'T ON. THAT WAS THE FIRST FUCKIN THING I CHECKED SMARTASS!"

This is not the type of person that i like to see joining this forum.

And he types in all caps...

AOL member perhaps?

CLUofI's post is not off base, I think most of us at one time have accidentally hit the lock button and subsequently couldn't figure out why the window won't go up. Even though it's really frustrating when your warrantly just expires and something then breaks, still try to be nice to those who are trying to help you!!

welcome to the forum. some people have had the power window problems.. i think it was around 200 to get the whole thing fixed for other people.

you might wanna take the caps lock off.

people are just trying to look at all angles as to why your window isnt working. if someone told you to check the switch, it not because they were trying to make you look like an idiot.

since we are talking about window lock...
does the window lock button locks BOTH windows? i thought it'll make sense to lock only the passenger side?
i don't know... maybe mine is busted... or it's a feature?

it only locks the passenger window.
i have had to use it a couple of times for the annoying passenger that found it funny to keep opening and closing the window.

you can lock the window open or closed. it staysint he postion that you pushed the btton in. so you can lock it halfway or anything inbetween also.

Also, the warranty doesn't REALLY run out at exactly 60,000 miles. You add whatever miles were on the car when it was delivered (for instance, mine had 27 on the odometer when I got it, so my factory warranty is good until 50,027). It's a long shot, but if it was a dealer demo or something it might have had more than 400 miles on it when it was bought new.

In any case, it's worth being extra polite to your service manager and seeing what they can do...

Don't bite my head off, but I have a quote for you. I had my window fixed under warranty, but they gave me the costs anyway. Here they are:

Regulator (motor): $133.72
Labor $ 72.50
Total $206.22 -plus- tax

Good Luck!

If/when that happens to my windows, I'm doing the install myself!!
This happened to my wife's Jeep and they charged the flat rate of $75 - 100 for labor and it took them a little over 5MIN to do the work!!!!

Such a rip off!!

And they just buy the whole window unit as a whole so it's really just a parts swap... takes no brain power whatsoever!!!

The windows suck. period. My regulator broke the 2nd day I had my car. They fixed it, but it is still slow as nuts when I try to roll it up. It's even worse when its raining. It sounds like its tryin to lift a truck when it goes up.
