Computer chip
Computer chip
Hey, I'm new to the CL upgrade world. I just made my mods in the last couple months. I was wondering if there was a company out there that sales computer chip upgrades or will reprogram my CPU? If so who and how much and have you done it? What did you think of the change? Thanks
as far as i know there is no preprogrammed chip(could be wrong but almost positive) the venom 400 is the only one that i know of
maybe jet sells a computer program setup NOT A STAND ALONE SYSTEM IF THEY DO IT SHOULD BE AROUND 300 BUCKS

no chip. there were some on e bay for around 3 bucks claiming to boost power a lot but they were trash, as you could tell from the price. the venom and the apexi vafc vtec controller are the only things. from what ive read on here the vtec controller is only good if you are heavily modded and get it dyno tuned.
Has anybody heard of something called spiralmax? It supposedly swirls the air in your intake( it goes inside the intake) and adding two,the company says, can add around 15% hp. Sound too good to be true? Reply to me and then check out spiralmax.com
Vegas, 15% horsepower increase for $70 or whatever the site said is definatly too good to be true. Looks just like the Tornado on infomercials. A few weeks ago there was a group buy for the Helix Power Tower on the board. It is a similar concept but goes between the TB and intake. Reviews were mixed, it seemed the best thing about it was the sound. If you search for power tower im sure you'll find stuff. The general feeling on the tornado and the similar spiralmax was it is too far away to do any good.
the helix works good as far as throttle response dont know realy the horsepwr diff i have had mine for about 7 months i just mainly like the sound it sounds like a turbo and it is some other part u can say u have
I was on eBay recently and discovered a computer chip called an Optima Performance Module, which is for Acura CL 3.0. It claims to add up to 25 horsepower. It says that it won't cause any damage to your engine because it stays within the manufacturers specifications. It costs like $25. Does anyone know if this is truly a safe way to enhance the engines power? I know there are some cheaper ones that can understandably harm the engine, but I was curious as to how chips similar to the Optima Performance chip worked.

Negative,You are not gonna find a chip to make your car faster. Turbo it.......swap an H22 then turbo it, whatever you like.........An I hope you get rid up those kuhmo tires cause those are the worst tires that they produce.

Please don't get this crap for your car. They do nothing but mess with your ECU. What they do is mess with your throttle and leave the throttle wide open, and it screws with your ecu

That's what I was originally gonna get for my 18's, but the guy at my tire place recommended the yokohama's
Well you mad a good move, the other tires get teribble traction and over all are just a badly planned tire.........but the 711s are to bad,Ive never had a problem with them and they never seemed to looud to me, but i have a few friends with lifted trucks and big tires sooooooo there isnt much that compares to that sound.
there are company out there that would take u're stock ECU and re-chip it or even flash the ECU. But its pointless if ur car is not heavly mod...all you be doing is burn gas up faster and tahts what the Apex afc does, because the apex afc is a piggy back computer....you can switch back to your stock program with a push of a button.
