Vtec?

I have a 98' 2.3 CL automatic. I just want to know how can i get the vtec running? At what rpm? Are there any different sounds that shows that the vtec is running?

The valve timing change occurs at 4K RPM (I think).

you'll feel a little boost in power, but on the 4-cylinder its not too too drastic.

You should hear a slight wine. You can even put in a light on your guage cluster that comes on when VTEC comes on (and it looks factory cause you shoudl have an unused light on your cluster). I saw directions on another site so if you want them email me and i'll try to find them.

I've seen that light...pretty cool. I personally really wouldn't use it b/c between the 6-cylinder engine and the Weapon-R intake, I know when VTEC is engaging!!

i have a 98 2.3 auto and i cant FEEL when the vtec comes on, i cant HEAR when the vtec comes on, and i sure as hell cant taste, or smell it, so what point would there be to SEEing when it comes on? i sure as hell dont care since with my car it does pretty much nothing if i had a vtec light come on while i was driving, it would just remind me how vtec WOULD be doing something if i had a different car...

i have an intake and all through first i hear constant increase in sound, no jump in aggressive noise to indicate vtec has kicked in or anything. cant really know in any other gear cuz flooring it with auto means downshift automatically and i cant tell wtf is going on with the noise. i guess i could try flooring it with the selector set to two, but if i cant hear it all through first what are the chances of hearing it in second?
