Clicking noise from front right tire area

Whenever the car is in motion, there is a clicking noise that comes from the front right tire area. Any suggestions?

Is it when you start out? it could be your cv-joint , I'm just guessing I had an older Acura Legend that I had to replace one of them. It made a clicking noise when I turned from a stop and accelerated.

does it click when you let off the gas to slow down, when it shifts during acceleration, or when you take off or switch to reverse? mine does it at all those times... acura is going to look at mine, i'll let you know what they say.

Sounds like CV Joints to me, get under your car and check out the CV Boot, to see if it is damaged, that will surely tell you if it is the CV joint or not.

Just curious, How many miles do you have on your CL. I know the 4th and 5th gen accords have lots of problems with CV joints going to crap after about 80 to 90,000 miles.

Holy Shit! I have 86,000 miles on my 98 3.0CL. How much is this going to cost me?

My ex g/f had this happen to her 97 accord and I think it cost her around $200. Let me
know how much it costs you because the same thing will probably happen to my 98 3.0, I have also heard that lowering springs cause CV joints to go even faster.

It is not necessarily going to be the CV joint. It is possible that it is the bearing in the hub. If they go bad it shifts and makes a clicking noise like you said. It also could be a tie rod. There are a numerous amount of possibilities. Best thing is to bring it to a trusted mechanic if you are not mechanically inclined yourself. Watch out for Acura Dealer, they will rape you.

Should i be worried about my CV joints or do I only need to fix them when they go? I have 164,000 miles on my car.

No more scratches thanks to the dumbass who walked on my car and had to pay to have it repainted.

Well since everyone else is going for the technical answer, I will suggest the most obvious and also the most over looked. Check your tires for rocks and any other objects that become wedged in the groves. Sounds silly but you would be surprised how many times I have fixed strange noise just by removing rocks.

If the shafts are not causing you any trouble (ex: clicking noise when you turn very sharp) they they should be fine, my old accord had 260,000 miles on it before I had to change the passenger side for the first time. They usually run about $200 a piece just for the shaft... but they may be more expensive for the 3.0, knowing acura, they made them a little bigger on the 3.0, vs. the accord or 2.2/2.3. But do like FrstgenCl said, just have a good mechanic check things out, and definatly not acura (we hate getting raped!! lol) I have a weird noise comming from my right front wheel when I take off, or take my foot off the gas... i have no idea what it is, but its going to acura tomorrow so they can see what it is, and mine's under warranty so I wont get kicked in the balls by acura.

Hey 1997Acura30cl,

Are you still riding on your factory shocks with the ground controls? If so how many miles have you put on your factory shocks with the coilovers?

Yes I am ridding on the factory shocks... the car only had 18,000 miles on it when I got it and now i'm up to 46,000... they've been on there since a week after I got the car, i'm not too sure of the exact mileage when I put them on, but they are still working just fine... I do not have the car lowered that much, I live in a shitty area for a lowered car... lots of back roads and stuff. So to save the chin spoiler, I keep the springs adjusted a little high, but if I am in the mood to impress, its too simple to slam it down. But I have no trouble at all with the factory shocks/struts... my car rides great... kinda like a Integra with 3 ppl in it. Still stiff and no bounce.
