hi guys,

this is my first time on this forum. seems like a pretty kool place. i have a 97 3.0cl and well i was just kinda wondering if anyone's havin any problems with their mileage cos in the last cpl mths my mileage has declined to 16-17 mpg although i been fillin the premium ever since i bought the car 2 yrs back. anyone with any suggestions or anything on this is greatly appreciated. thanks ya'll

When I was using 87 octane, I was getting between 350-400 miles per tank (combination of highway and city driving)

Since I've changed to 93 octane (I'm running N2O), my mileage has dropped. Now, I'm lucky to get 325 miles per tank.

BTW: I fill up the tank before the "low fuel" lights comes on, so there's probably at least 2 gallons left in the tank.

 

thanks Rick. Well, im gonna take it up to the dealer next week and get a complete tune up on it hopefully that'd help. btw i looked at some of ur acrua's pics. awesome dude. never knew u could such kinda kool stuff w/ this car. peez.

There is a lot we can do with our CLs!

When you go to the dealer, ask them about the emissions recall. You may have a clogged EGR value.

Down to 20-22 mpg with the 500 cc injectors and 93 octane

Price of performance I guess.

Last trip to Chicago ran around 30-31mpg (cruise set @ 73mph).

Around town, I do well to get 20mpg (Venom sucking fuel from the tank & testing 0-60 times at most lights, toll booths, etc).

It can get good mileage....but that's not much fun!

I usually run Premium......just cuz.

20 mpg in the city, hwy is around 25 mpg driving around 80 mph.
