chirping alarm?
I have a 1997 2.2 CL, and when i use my keyless entry to lock the doors the car alarm will chirp, but this only happens 10% of the time? Why does it only chirp randomly? is there a way to make it chirp all the time, or is the sound a warning trying to tell me something?
Also my sunroof button doesn't always work, i don't know if the wiring is lose, but sometimes the button is dead, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem? And how much did it cost to fix?
Thanx

well that random chirping happened to me too...I pressed lock + trunk button and hold it after the light stops blinking(it's the small light on top of your lock button). after that it beeps everytime i lock/unlock...if this doesnt work..then take it to the dealer

sounds like some bad wiring, mine chirps 3 times when i hit the lock button too fast before the door is shut i always wondered if there was an audio feature for the alarm but i never could find out. the chirp i dont know about that it could be a glitch in the system, try looking around and finding the box and making sure all the wiring are connected and are secure.

I've known some others who had to resort to aftermarket alarms just to get that confimation beep everytime you lock/unlock. But thanks to DP here I just saved myself $200. Thanks DP!!
All I need now is a shock sensor. We should have this info posted in some section like the FAQs or something. When pressing the two buttons together you want the light to be on for about 2 sec. If you don't push it right then the light will blink twice. Anyhow, After that long blink push the lock and you hear a (beep) then the parking lights blink once. Then when you press unlock it does a (beep) (beep) and then flashes twice. I'm just excited that there's this feature. It's so pimp! My batteries are dying now that I pushed them a little too much. Enough of that!!!!
Sorry lostboy500 for posting and not helping you out but I have to agree with the others..."electrical problems." You have more than one electrical problem so bring it into the dealer to get it checked up. Your keyless entry unit under the passenger seat might have become defective too, as do most units. You really should get it checked out, that's all I have to say.
Ciao...

Chirp/Chirp+Chirp
Wow...Before I even finished reading this thread I went upstairs to try the trunk+lock on my car and thought it didn't work so before I went inside I armed it and heard the chirp for the first time since I bought this car.
Lol, that was f'n sweet.
