MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON SO I WENT TO GET IT CHECK OUT AND THEY SAID THAT THE EGR VALVE IS BAD SO I GOT A NEW EGR VALVE AND CHANGED IT BUT ITS STILL ON. DO I HAVE TO GET THE ECU RESET? IF YES CAN I DO IT MYSELF? AND HOW? BY THE WAY I GOT A 3.0CL. SOMEONE HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

first of all, turn off the caps lock

and yes you do have to reset it..

 

Dis connect your battery for 30 seconds, or if you want to keep you radio presets... Dis connect the secondary clock fuse for 30 seconds. That should clear it. There is also a service plug that you can jump two of the pins, but I don't remember the pin numbers to jumper.

 

if you have a 3.0 you need to clean out the egr paths in your intake manifold.. the ONLY way to do it is remove the intake manifold. its actually not hard, but if you reset the light it will come back on within the week.
