I'm not surprised that a cougar with a V6 and stick is faster than our car. If I had a 3.0 with a stick then my car would be faster than the cougar
It's like comparing apples to oranges when we start heading up against 6 cyl's. We're two down! They should beat us! But when we do... it just shows what a crappy V6 they have!

HEY!!!! Watch your language about the Probe GT's!
I beat one, but they ain't pieces of shit. My stick when driven correctly will go neck and neck with the 1st gen CL, stick or manual, strictly stock thru thre 1/4 mile, aftre that, then you can talk smack - damn Mazda V6's have no top speed.
I still prefer to drive my CL, so the Ford's days are getting numbered.

I've beaten a new cougar by alot. Not sure if it was the 4 or 6 cylinder but it was stick. I took the cougar off the line and after about 1/2 a mile he was atleast 5 car legnths back.
Also beaten a bunch of Integras, Accords and Civics.
By the way I'm finally thinking of going to a track next week and get some times on my car. I've never raced at a track before so it should be fun. Any advice you guys want to give? I'm probably going to take out my all my seats (except the driver seat) and spare tire. I can't imagine it being much different than racing on the street. Are there any rules for having NOS? Thanks

Just pulling your leg. I love my Probe, she got me across the country a few times and out of a few jams, but the CL is just a better ride. No offense taken. I know we talk smack, hell, it's the only way people will race us and shut most of us up. Everybody knows that a 2.5 liter V6, 164 HP car can't beat much on the street, unless you know what you are doing. Get a good start and pray for the best!
Her days are still numbered!!!!!

1sgenCL, your car must be really slow if an auto Cougar feels faster! If I remember right, those things did 0-60 in about 10 seconds with the V6.
SAY22CL, sounds like the Laser wasn't racing... either that or its driver has a serious inability to drive.
