Car is dead, won't start. Please help.
Ok- so I get in my car and turn the key, and it wont even attempt to turn over. Just nothing. I have power to all my accessories, i.e. lights, stereo, wipers, all the normal shit. However, I have no power to my alarm, doors, brakes, etc. There is no clicking noise like a starter issue..... just a whirring noise that I assume is the fuel pump.
Any one know what's up here? My car is dead in the Safeway parking lot and I dont want to have to pay for a tow

First check your battery cables for security. A bad battery connection can cause your symptoms while rest of car can look good.
No power to alarm has probably disabled your start system through the alarm relay. You need to get power to the alarm, or you won't be able to start. Fuse, damaged wiring are good possibilities. Is this a factory or aftermarket alarm. If aftermarket, you may want to call the installer.
Most folks have tow coverage on their insurance for this reason. Best, maybe only, bargain insurance. For $5/yr you can get a $80 tow when needed. I've used mine several times over the years.
good luck

yep- thanks to the one person who replied
Something in the alarm (factory alarm) is blowing the fuse to the security door panel fuse, and wont let th e car start. Must be tied into the ignition somehow. So as long as I dont set the alarm when I lock it, it doesnt blow the fuse. Temporary fix, but I will need to wait for some money to take it in to shop. Anyway, thanks for the help to the one response.
