A/C is dying...
Well, it looks as though my car has been trying to warn me of an impending issue with my a/c. The girgling hissing wwooossshhhing sound I've been hearing is prolly air in the lines and it is beginning to affect the performance of my a/c. I hope it is not leaking real bad or something. I've suspected that my compressor was having issues, because a month or two ago, I noticed it seemed to be chattering louder than usual. Now, when it comes on, I hear that funky ass noise. and the air comming out isn't quite as cold as it should be. Fuck I hate that shit... happened to my integra, and I was looking at replacing the compressor, but the car got totaled so I thought I wouldn't have to worry about it untill now. SHIT. Sorry for the rant.
check the expansion valve, it may also be called the orifice tube.. its what turnes the freon from a liquid to a gas via. ventury, alot like an ac pack on a plane. check it for whats called "black death". its alot of black metal shavings that comes from your compressor bearings showing impending doom., which is why its called black death. it can also get clogged by leak sealers you put into the freon, which would make it not as cold.. check the evaporator core for leaves, and shit bein stuck to it which would also make corrosion to it and make it leak. i know here thet base hobby shop will hook your car up to a ac machine and check the pressures to make sure the levels are correct. it will also tell you weather you have a difference between the high pressure side and low pressure side, which should be reletave to each other. if they are different that means there is a clogg somewhere or there is air in the system. which air causes moisture and moisture mixed with the light alluminum causes acid which makes for a bad day for the seals. i would drain the entire system, change the orifice tube/expansion valve, and have it reserviced. just to see where you stand.. that is all an a/c shop will do and they will charge you atleast 300$ to do it.
Got the a/c fixed, turned out that the low side shrader valve was stuck open.... Debris or something... My bro vaced it out, replaced the valve, recharged it and it is now perfect. Wilp, thanks for the info. peace yall.
