Bushing changes!?

Anyone done much switching out of bushings for stronger? I'm currently debating doing the full Energy Suspension bushing kit. I currently have the sway bar and end link bushings but my end link bushings stripped on one side and need to be replaced so I was just thinking about doing the whole thing.

this place has it for 109.99

I can probably get it cheaper through a distributer out here though.

yep yep, but it'd be easier for you to find out which bushing and just change those, would dave you cash. Cheapest I found on the net was ebay for 89.00 and 8 shipped. Most sets of bushings are like 10-20$

i have a set of poly bushings, but i don't know what brand they are. The shop originally installing my shocks ruined the rubber bushings so they replaced them w/ poly ones for free. I guess I should be excited

did the shock bushing make a significant difference? Can you explaing the coilspring isolator Is it just a little wrap around?

the coilspring isolator is the pad on top of the spring that sitsin the oem upper mount. the upper shock bushings made the ride firmer and the shocks reacted slightly faster. one of them shredded on me some how so now im back on oem rubber.

I need to change my bushings also. My stock ones are shot since I didn't change them when dropping the car. My rear passenger side squeaks like a bitch!

Anyway, maybe we can get a groupbuy going for the ones from Energy Suspension....

So VXCL, you think the Honda bushings will be better than poly even on a lowered car?

They're kinda like bearings for your suspension. If you've ever changed a shock, you can see the rubber bushings in the top & bottom mounting points. The factory uses rubber bushings where all of the suspension parts are bolted together. Rubber is soft and wears out. As the rubber gets old, steering and handling get sloppy because of the extra play. Polyurethane his harder. The negatives to poly bushings is that they ride a little harder and can squeak. On the plus side, steering response and handling is improved. There's more here: http://www.energysuspension.com/

well on the lower shock mounts yes. ull notice nothing diff just firmer ride. i think sway bushings are prob the best thing to change to poly. even new honda bushings make a big diff if urs are dry rotted and worn. and again the fitment and overall design of the energy suspension bushings were nothin like honda's.

unless u track ur car i dont see you noticing anything but an unwanted firmer ride where u feel everything in the steering wheel.

i was happy with the upper bushings, coil spring pad, and new swaybar endlinks, and new honda lower bushings
