Bitter Sweet Weekend
Bitter Sweet Weekend
Just got back from a road trip this weekend and it was definitely bitter sweet. I drove from Miami to Tampa to pick up a bunch of h22a parts for my swap. The sweet part of the story I picked up almost all the parts I need to finish the swap including a 5 speed tranny, headers, wire harness, distributor, ecu, shift linkage and a bunch of other stuff. Got a great deal for all the parts and only had to pay $450 for all the above parts. Only need a couple minor parts and the h22a should be in my CL by late this month or early next month. Well now to bitter part of the story, on the way up I got a nice fat speeding ticket courtesy of the FHP. Got caught doing 93 mph in a 70 mph zone. Now if I want to take the ticket to court, it would have to be in the county I got the ticket in which is 4 hours away from my home. So I guess I'll just end up paying the $175 ticket or go to traffic school.
Sorry for writing so much but I had to vent.

LOL, I DONT KNOW BOUT THE 2.2CL BADGE....where in tampa did you get all these h22a parts.....i live in tampa!.......this is great, maybe i will do an h22a swap in the future.....hey, can you post a total of what this is costing you....also break it up so i know what i might have to pay for certain shit! THANKS....and keep us posted with the swap! i hope youre takin lotsa pics!
Why would I lose my liscense for going 23 mph over the speed limit?
I picked up the parts from some guy in Brandon. Basically its costing me a under $2,000 for all of the parts for the swap. I bought all the parts slowly since I didn't have the $2,000+ to buy a complete swap. Basically I payed $500 for a complete head off a '98 h22a4, $510 for a complete '99 h22a4 block and I just payed $450 for the tranny and ecu off a '97. I guees you can tell I decided to an obd2 h22a. I'm missing a couple parts like a throttle body and a valve cover but thats about it. I also got rid of some of the stock parts and upgraded to high performance parts and also port and polished intake maniflod and head. I have all the parts thrown around my house. I'm trying to get the swap done asap because the parts are taking up alot of room. If you guys want I can take pics of all the parts before they are put toghter. I'm going to be taking lots and lots of pics while doing the swap so anyone else thats interested in doing a swap can have a guide line to follow.

Your car should be pretty tough when done. Congrats on the swap
Sorry to hear about the ticket!
Congrats on the h22a parts!
Yeah, here in MD, one could have their license revoked for "reckless driving" (20+ over the speed limit). It's unlikely that would happen on a first offense.
Looking forward to your swap results! Are you putting the Zet kit on the new motor?

. In Florida you can go over 30 mph over the speed limit but the ticket for that would be $275.00. Here are some of pics of the parts before they are assembled.
