Bent Rim! :(

I was working on my car this morning, and noticed that my driver's side front rim is bent.

Can this be repaired, or am I fucked?

You've got to stop letting the wife borrow the car

I broke a rim and had the insurance co pay for it minus deductable.

I think the wheel, tire, mount, balance, alignment, rental car came to $550 or so and the deductable was $250.

There should be a place in town that can repair it for like 50 bucks. My rim is bent too and I just rotated it to the back and all I get now is some road noise, I am getting rims soon so that is why I just didn't replace it.

Sorry to hear! are they one piece or multi piece.. i forget!? if they are mulit piece they can be fixed but you have to send it out and it takes like a month or 2... if its a one piece stake it as a claim or just buy a new one! sorry man!

Dust, you can take it to a rim shop and have someone look at it. I have heard of little bends being able to be straightend out, but you'll have to get a professionals opinion

Thanks for the feedback!

I'm just going to buy a new rim.

I'll probably see about getting this one straightened, but I'll only use it as a spare.

The wheel is a one piece, and it's not bent too bad. Just the lip is bent slightly. I've lost no air pressure, and there's no road noise or shaking.

I posted this same thread in "CAR TALK", and was given the number to a place to call.

Hell,

It looks like it's cheaper (or close to the same price) to just buy a new rim.

So . . . . . .

I spent the $175 for a new one.

It should be here a week from Monday.

For now, I put the bent one on the rear. It's holding air pressure just fine, but I'll feel safer with it on the rear!
