Bad to flush tranny again?

I dunno I went to this place by my house and I think they didn't use Honda ATF soo Is it bad if I get another flush this week? I got the other one 3-4 months ago. If I did the honda atf would it feel smoother?

you HAVE to use honda ATF (or something designed for Honda use), anything else will destroy the
tranny. I've heard doing full flushes aren't good, don't know why though. But I change my fluid w/ every oil change

So what should I do Im going to make an appointment with acura this week...Drain or flush it? Im really not sure if there is Honda ATF in there right now. I just want to do whatever is best for the tranny. Wouldn't it make sense to flush it? What is the flushing procedure can I wait for it to be done at the dealership or does it take longer?

u can use dextron 3 as a trmporary substitute. i would go to acura and have them flush it with honda atf. i think its like 75$. honda atf is supposed to be self cooling. as where dextron 3 is not.

That's exactly what they used come to think about it I saw the Dextron 3 blue bottle I kept doubting myself but I coulda sworn it said "Dextron 3" man fuckkk that place. They installed the tranny cooler and put that shit in...How long can this be used? I've been running it for atleast 4-4.5 months!! Did this cause any severe damage? OMG There gonna hear from me that fukin spick (sorry if i affend any1).

Running dextron 3 for 4 months really bad? I checked the tranny fluid its still a pink.

no not really bad but it doesent lube like honda atf. i dont think it would have done any long term dammage. just take it back to them and have them flush it with honda atf for free. or burn the store to the ground. if they dont then just take it to acura and have them do it. they have a machine that gets all the shit out.

you probably wanna flush it now that it's had dextron 3 in there for thi amount of time... well depends on how many miles you've driven. Shoulda gone to a honda or acura dealership and bought some honda ATF from them and then given it to the shop to put in your car. that's what I did. Cost me like $60 less than having the fucking dealership rape me for it.

your lucky, i had been putting mobile ATF in my shit. That was definately a bad look. now i know

why my shit rides rough. consider yourself lucky that your car doesnt shake like a dog out of a pool.

Well it must have been in there for 10k miles... Because when they rebuilt the tranny (the shop) im sure they flushed it out with their own stuff and they use like dextron 3...Did this cause major damage to my tranny? I plan on getting it flushed either this week or next week with the honda atf.

Has anyone changed their manual tranny fluid? Is it hard to do? How much would a shop charge, and what kinda fluid should u use?

for a manual tranny u use gear oil usually 80w90. there should be a drain plug then further up the xfer case there should be a refill plug. bout half way up the case. remove the plug and reinstall the drain plug. fill the refill plug just to where it starts to come out . u cannot over fill it.its idiot proof. reinstall the plug and ur done.

OK I had a whole long talk with a nice lady at the transmission shop. Her husband owns the shop so she knows what shes talking about...She told me that the shop uses dextron 3 and adds an additive that makes it just like honda atf. And she also told me the shop does NOT do tranny flushes. She told me the shop thinks flushes do more harm then good from all the pressure used during them. Her husband recommended that all I EVER do is drain and put more fluid in and never to flush it. It can cause more problems...He said most of the time these people come in saying they just got there tranny flushed and its driving like crap. He said if i didn't think it caused so many problems "hell i'd do them all the time make some extra money". He said it's ok to do on new cars but there really not good for older cars...He said for decades all anyone did was drain and add, flushes are pretty new...He said every 12k miles and your good.

anyone have any input? BTW i called up acura dealership the guy told me 160.00 to flush!!

i never heard of an additive to make it like honda atf. but if thats what they said...... thier right bout the flush thing. all it does is disturb all the gunk stuck to parts and causes them to go into the valve body. ive seen the crap. u ever remove the drain plug and look at all the grey shit on it. well thats all inside the tranny. i think as long as u have alwas done flushes it will be ok but there is no need. i guess just drain and refill it your self. make sure u (with the car NOT running) run thru all the gears. p n d 4 3 2 1. that opens all the valve bodies and lets the fluid out of te respectful gears. let me know what u do..
