well today, i saw the rear of a 1st gen CL on the road without a spoiler or rear kit (unlike mine), and i realized it was butt freakin ugly lol

i never see the back of mine while im driving, but the spoiler and rear kit helps a little

has anyone ever tried clearing the rear lights? cuz i just realized they don't look that hot =| or is there anything else

i need some ideas on how to improve it!! i will be getting an exhaust shortly but anything else?

 

dude, i personally am a fan of the no spoiler look without the lip. i think it provides a really clean look. personally i find the lip a little ricey, but hey, do what you like

 

i mean its not like SUPER ugly or anythin but..iono could be improved?

 

is that your car? i dont like the rear lip but i like the type w skirts and the front lip

 

i cannot express how happy i am that there aren't any clear tails for the cl. and i hope this trend continues....but personally, i don't like the spoiler..it reminds me of a hyundai or something..it takes away from the unique-ness of the car. there isnt a car out there that comes close to the way the first gen looks. The spoiler doesn't look ugly, i just preferr the naked look. plus the spoiler is just another thing for water to hide under after you wash your car...so when you get done drying it and drive down the street and the soapy water creeps out from under it. hehe hate when that happens.

iono i think the SHAPE of the lights are like a 350z kinda (?)

Without the spoiler the first gen looks so sleek...yea, the spoiler can be somewhat of a nice touch if you like that. Personally, one of the reasons I bought my CL was because of the back end. It seems like the back end of cars can always be the worst part designed and Acura did a heck of a job making it so simple and...I guess you could say elegant.

 

The red tail lights are so hot on our first gens too. I am glad there are no orange lights on my car. Clear out the front, yea, leave the back with that deep red!

I was thinking of this...and man I'd love to see what our car would look like with clear tail lights and black housing.

Seems too hard for me to do.

 

the reason I bought the car is cause of the back end without the spoiler, I 1st saw the car on a Janet Jackson video and loved the back end and thats what made me buy the car, adn I agree with not wanting to clear out the tail lights, Im glad no-one has made them, and the no amber on the car (once clear corners), over all its just a great lookin car

 

I am a fan of our shapely ass... I love the solid red tail lights and would hate to see them cleared!!! Our asses are clean and smooth... but i agree they only look good with spoiler.. I hate the NON spoiler look!!!

Clear tails were played out 2 years ago and Altezzas are on 14:59 of their 15 minutes of fame. The stock tails are best on the CL.....One of the main reasons I bought my CL was because of the rear end and lights. The tailights are so cool that many cars now have simular tailights. The new Taurus, the 98+ Grand Am, some Kia model and a few others have the slashed lights. Our's still look best....

I vote: maybe rear factory spoiler but absolutely no lip. Clean-cut, sleek look, uncluttered. That's why Acura didn't put a trunk keyhole back there. I have the metallic red and with the red tail lights...it looks COOL.

 

that rear lip looks funky.

 

sweet, I noticed it, thats the video that first caught my eye on the CL, loved them ever sence, I just wish I know the video so I could see it again

I also say that our car without a spoiler looks bad. I prefrr the spoiler. Looks more proportionate. the car flows better.

When i got my spoiler some said it look better without it and some liked it better with it just depends i guess but i really like mine

 

Yes, our car (my car) is so unique in it's styling and looks! I love the bodystyle! It is so sleek and good looking...there isn't another car out there that looks as great as the 1st gen CL! about the spoiler/lip subject, I have a rear spoiler but no lip. I don't really like the body kits and such..I like the clean look--lowered with big wheels!...everything painted the body color!

 

remix, your back lip is tight! sucks everyones doggin on it. I like the spoiler and the cats eye tails we got.

You gotta be kiddin! The rear of the first gen CL is its most eligant and unique feature. I like it with or with out the spoiler.

i dont like the spoilers or the rear lips i think it looks clean if nothing is on the back i think it looks cluttered
