AMp Kit
AMp Kit
alright I looked real quick at my engine..... and it looks really cluttered.. its currently raining so I am not going to install my subs today... but I was just wondering where I should run the wiring through the firewall... is it obvious?
if it is then lol.. sorry...
does anyone have any tips they wish they would of known before they installed their amp kit?
I wish I had a bmw sometimes because the battery is in the trunk

There is a wiring rubber grommet under the steering wheel that runs through the firewall, and it just pops out, that's where I ran mine through.
if u are looking under the dash of the drivers side, youll see the gromet to the driverside of the steering colum, poke a small hole with a screw driver and run a straightened out coat hanger through it and attach the wire and pull it through.

Run your amp wire down your drives side to the trunk, and your RCA's down the pax side.

why chance it. Professionals will always run your wires down opposite sides, as do I. Not to mention I hate ground loops or any interference. Why risk it.

haha hell ya.. appreash all this feedback.. I am doing it right now as we speak.. I am going to do the power wire... already did the rca and remote on ... I'm doing opposite sides like suggested... should i zip tie the power wire under the black bar in the engine so the wire doesnt interfere with anything?
by the time i have gotten the wire through the firewall and to the trunk.. I'm sure there will be atleast 10 posts lol....

i installed recently myself...it was a 2.3....i took off the glove compartment and you can get to the rubber gromet thing under that....i had to unscrew the fuse holder in my engine to get to the other side of the rubber gromet.....it work that way!
Oh while i'm at it.. what about the ground wire? any suggestions where i should ground it? I'm sure I could find a spot to ground it.. just it sounds like you people are all about quality installs... and your suggestions are always welcome!!!!!

Glad u got it workin.Best ground place in the trunk is unbolt one of the nuts for the rear struts and ground to that. Believe me i've grounded to liek 6 different places in the trunk, that's the best spot.
