AMp Kit

alright I looked real quick at my engine..... and it looks really cluttered.. its currently raining so I am not going to install my subs today... but I was just wondering where I should run the wiring through the firewall... is it obvious?
if it is then lol.. sorry...
does anyone have any tips they wish they would of known before they installed their amp kit?
I wish I had a bmw sometimes because the battery is in the trunk

There is a wiring rubber grommet under the steering wheel that runs through the firewall, and it just pops out, that's where I ran mine through.

if u are looking under the dash of the drivers side, youll see the gromet to the driverside of the steering colum, poke a small hole with a screw driver and run a straightened out coat hanger through it and attach the wire and pull it through.

Don't even poke a hole, the grommet pops right out like I said above, and you can just snug up around it after you put the wire through. And save your dollar

yep.

Run your amp wire down your drives side to the trunk, and your RCA's down the pax side.

Most RCA's (of decent quality) are shielded. But why chance it. I found it easier to run them seperately. The power wire barely fit under the carpet near the drivers side door anyways.

if he's just powering the subs... interference isnt much of a problem... ull hear it more if the amp was also powering the panel speakers

why chance it. Professionals will always run your wires down opposite sides, as do I. Not to mention I hate ground loops or any interference. Why risk it.

All thanks to the advise from a CL expert Glad u got it workin.

Best ground place in the trunk is unbolt one of the nuts for the rear struts and ground to that. Believe me i've grounded to liek 6 different places in the trunk, that's the best spot.

i bolted my amp to the back of the trunk the metal piece that seperates the back seat and trunk then use one nut and run your ground through that!
