A ? about ceramic brake pads

I recently turned my rotors on my CL after it was shuttering badly. I was talking to the guy at my work that said i probably should get new pads as well. He told me just to go down to napa and get premium pads for my car. So i did that and they gave me ceramic pads which i have no clue about. Do they last a long time? Do they stop just as good (cold or hot)? If anyone knows anything about these or any of napas pads please let me know. Im thinking about taking these back to put towards better pads if not OE pads. Thanks for your time

Better pads. Last longer, no brake dust as there is no metal in them, less heat because ceramic is not a conductor, which all adds up to better stopping as well. Ceramic is the OEM pads on our cars(i think...could be wrong).

i have the Hawk Performance pads the street pads

they are ceramic as well, but on the CL the CL has a problem with sweeking, well at least i have, i tried these pads cause of the complements that people had on them i think d5c5b told me about them, they ran me 63 including shipping just for the front

the only think is that they are starting to sweek and i dont know why, i dont break hard and im still in the break-in period, but should i take it back and have them sand down the pads so that they wont sweek? i dont know i had this problem with the old pads and now these are doing the smae thing

my brakes are squeaking too. i thought i have to change the pads but the good guy at goodyears told me that i have plenty of pads left and the squeaking is b/c the rotor looks a lil too mirror like, so it costs the squeak. only way to fix it is to change to ceramic and it'll cost me $100. the squeaking doesn't bother me that much to spend a 100 bucks on it, so i left it along.

Ceramic pads i'm told have a break in period like you say during which they may sqeek. It will go away shortly. How long have you had them on?
