3.0 Muffler ?? which one?

Ok, Im ready to buy. Pls recommend a muffler for my 3.0 I prefer a dual tip style to keep that semi-stock look. Im not a fan of the slant-up ones either. I see so many on Ebay, I just want to make sure I dont get a POS. I want good sound too!! Thanks guys!

Like this one for example?? Worth it or not? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33636

I wouldn't recommend going with one of those generic mufflers. If you have a 3.0 then it will sound low and deep but very loud. But on a 2.2/2.3 it won't sound too good.

I would recommend a Magnaflow. Our stock muffler's bodies are 24" in length, 12" in width and about 8" in height. They are gigantic!!!! So if you want performance but yet maintain a noise level as close to stock then you would want a muffler close to those dimensions. And hence I'd go with a Universal double tipped Magnaflow and have tips welded on.

The averaged sized muffler on ebay are about 14"L X 8"W X 5"H. Very small and therefore are very loud. Not enough materials to absorb the drone that will occur.

Something like this:

And maybe with two of these welded on:

This might cost you a bit, but exhausts aren't something you want to skimp on!!! I positive you won't be disappointed with this setup!!!

BTW, this is the setup I have. And I also have owned one of those generic mufflers. So you can learn from me that if you're gonna do it...do it right!!! As the old cliche goes!!!

The magnaflow is a lot quieter, but the good part is if I ever want to growl at WOT I can have that growl!!!! But throughout the lower RPM ranges there isn't a drone, especially not at idle, as with the Powertech Dual tipped muffler I had before.

dude the generics are fine. I have one and so do about 5 of my friends. they all sound the same, and they all sound good. Kinda loud, but good. Theres no poping/buzzing sound.

I also have a friend with an 01 civic coupe with full magnaflow exhaust and he hates it! So does everyone who hears it because it sounds like shit. (not saying yours does athlonxp)

IMO go with a generic.

Now I'm starting to consider an exhaust. Ever since I heard a v6 accord with straight pipes I've been interested. Do you have any pics or movies of the exhaust?

Hey athlonxp, where did you buy your exhaust from and what did it involve as far as installing and such?

This is a 3A Racing "Air Dynamic" muffler.

I got it from NOMAD (another board member). He ordered it, had the piping and hangers welded on and installed on his car for a month or 2.

He decided to sell it, so I bought and had it mounted on my car.

You might want to send him a PM (or e-mail) to find out where he got it.
