27hz or 36hz?

I'm disputing on which box I should get.

I've decided to get a Ported single 12"....but its either a 27hz response or a 36hz....would either make my trunk rattle?

Whats the difference? I want it loud, and make sure it doesn't make my trunk rattle in the perfect position. Gotta have some audio experts on the structure of the car

Thanks!

The freq is the tuning of the said "port". 27Hz will have a deeper, lower sound. 36Hz will be more on the punchy, loud side.

Def stick with ported tho. Sealed is for wimps. :P

I'll challange you whenever you want my sealed vs your ported in spl and fq response.

Ported are for wimps stuck on old technology.

Any day. Freespace with no eq, etc - I'll put a ported box up against your sealed box.

As far as old technology goes, sealed is the oldest of them all. If you really want a competition - I'll put a horn loaded box (subwoofer) up against anything you can come up with. Heck, I'll put a hornloaded box up against TWO of anything you can come up with.

I'll all for friendly competition.

in a large room i would agree with you, in a car i disagree. I've heard em both and sealed always sounds better unless you listen to nothing but rap.

I wasn't talking about that for the car, just in general. You wouldn't be able to get a proper horn length and mouth area for anything but the smallest drivers in our trunks.

I'll stick to the ported vs. sealed argument for the car.
