Wow... so tempting.
I know it's just the grill with an 'A' but anyway you can get pics posted? For me it might be a make it or break if I could get some kind of visual image of this.

1- justify the demand
2- fund the project.
Look at the grille and imagine an A there instead. If you like it with an H then you'll like it with an A. We just wanted to convert it thinking most of you were not into the JDM conversion thing.

I understand wanting to see the finished part before making a commitment, but this is going to cost me a good chunk of money to get off the ground and I am just as hesitant to take all the risk in making a part that there is no promise will sell. I am having the same issue with 1g TSX people on a roof spoiler right now. I am not asking that much, just some money to encourage the process.
How about if I make the grille cheaper for the first 10 people and make the deposit fully refundable if you don't like the part in the end?

The only thing stopping me from giving u a deposit is the finish of the grille. How would I have to get it finished to make it look like the real Modulo Grille?

Let's say, first 10 people can get a fiberglass grille for $250 plus shipping, or a carbon grille for $320. Paint would be about $80 extra. Shipping in the USA is about $15, and to Canada about $35, and anywhere else about $55.

If you'll forgive my honesty, I'm not sure why you don't just make the grille and then try to sell it rather than trying to get customers to commit to something that currently does not exist.
I don't know if you are the owner of Heeltoe Automotive but assuming you are for a moment, would you want to commit money to a performance parts manufacturer promising a new part based on a Photoshop edit? That wouldn't seem to make very sound business sense.
Part of doing business is accepting the risk that comes with it. There are no guarantees. If you're creating a new product then you do your best with R&D and market research, etc., but in the end you are the one who decides if you want to bite the bullet and create the product. It doesn't seem fair for the businessperson to eat all the risk, but unfortunately that's the way it is in a society where the consumer is king.
Perhaps you could invest in a prototype and actually paint and install it, so that potential customers can see where their money would be going?
I understand that you may be looking at this as doing a favor for us 2nd gen owners. Maybe you're not even trying to turn a profit. I have never dealt with you personally but I have read countless raves about you here on the forums and I am sure you are a stand-up guy. I just wanted to offer my two cents and hope there are no hard feelings.

Why not make the part first and sell later? Because....I am gun shy. We've made parts with the promise of buyers and when we made with the goods the customers DISAPPEARED. Literally gone. No negative comments, no sales, no movement on parts. So I am still gripping with the possibility that while there seems to be a demand for this part, that will not necessarily translate to sales.
I don't have any trouble assuming risk when it makes sense, but we have seen that viable parts will generate preorders and deposits. In order for us to invest in a prototype we will have invested all the money in tooling and materials needed to just go all the way.
The only reasons why I could see not to send a deposit are:
1- you don't want the part, which I could understand
2- you don't trust the company you are sending money to, which you certainly seem to have read enough about us on the forums to counter this point.
Basically, without enough interest for people to make a nominal, refundable deposit to catalyze development, I certainly have to question the seriousness of anyone here in being willing to purchase the finished product.

Marcus, those are some very good points that I agree with completely. At this point with the refundable deposit it's a no-brainer for someone who truly wants the part. There is absolutely no risk to the buyer. I'm unable to participate at this time but I wish you the best in this endeavor.

guys, marcus does a great job with all the 1st gen tsx parts that he custom makes as well as doing group buys and simply a supplier of parts, have some faith that he knows what he's doing, his front lip and rear decklid for the 1st gen tsx are pretty dope

in a prototyping stage, it makes sense to collect investments first. But when it comes to finished product, the manufacturer should take the risk first and put in the dough.

I am very interested in your product and am curious if you still need a deposit. I am pretty sure I will send one in. Does it need to be paypal? I don't have an account but will make one if required. In addition my car is basque red pearl and do not know if carbon or painted would be best. Anyone have some thoughts?

Yeah I am still taking them. Paypal is sort of preferred because it is really easy to refund if I need to do that. CC deposits are a little more work for us because we need to invoice you. But we can do it that way if you need it. PP is really a good way to do things like this.
