Remote starter and warranty

We just purchased a 2012 MDX Tech last night. Will installing an aftermarket remote starter void our warranty? The dealer wants $800 for the factory starter and I only read bad things about it.

They can void your warranty if they find that the installation/use of the remote starter causes an issue/failure and you want it repaired under warranty.

I know someone who's had the warranty on their center console system (we call it the COMMAND system) because they installed an aftermarket back-up camera, which caused a their screen to freeze and they needed to bring it to the dealership to fix.

If it is installed properly you shouldn't have to worry about the car's warranty. I got the viper 5701 and it works great. If you check out their website they have other systems too.
