Cool My Remote Start Video

I had a viper 5701 remote start and alarm installed at the end of the december and I made this video to show how it is. I am very happy with the system as it works far way (~2000 ft) and lets you know if the car started on the fob. It was installed with a bypass module so it keeps the factory anti-theft immobilization intact. I hope this video helps if your thinking of getting a remote start installed on your car, let me know if you have any questions.

I also did the smd led interior conversion from ijdmtoy.com

Sweet- how much you paid to have it install? Did you purchase the unit outside and brought it to a shop to install?

I went to a local shop recommended by a few friends. Total cost was $515 and they had everything (unit & bypass). If you buy the unit off line I think the warranty gets void... the shop offered lifetime on everything

also if your not interested in an alarm the viper 5301 is the same unit w/o the alarm

Total is 515 with labor and part??? The local shop that you get it install, was it an authorize dealer of viper??? Because im thinking of getting a similar system, i call around my local shop but only best buy and one other electronic store carry viper. Best Buy wanted 499 plus 200 (and up) dollar to install not including tax. The other store wanted 320 for labor if i bring in the system and the bypass module or they will sell it to me for 350 + tax with the bypass. 700 (best buy) or 670 (local store) not including a dime of tax yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :shakehead Hell NOOOO. So i did some research and come up with this. Found a new viper 9501 on ebay at 250, TBSXKEY on ebay at 20, Viper led at 13. Found a local custom shop that will 250 labor No Tax. The total is 533.
the only thing was it is not an authorize dealer. On viper website it listed that don't buy their system on ebay. Can i still take advantage of their warranty? will i be able to register the product after i get it install??? Any one know??
I'm still thinking, any idea will be greatly appreciated. Sorry about the bad grammar!! Im ESL!!!
If i decide will post pic later!!!!

$515 was the total cost but I got a discount from the shop at the time (the shop provided all the parts). It is true that the warranty is void if you buy it online. Viper's web site has a search for authorized dealers if you can't find any. Shop around and if you can't find any try a different Bestbuy store and see if it is less $. There are also other good brands out there for 2 way remote start & alarms.

Hope this helps. Good Luck!

thanks, do you install the window control module too. What type of transponder did you use? Do the transponder need the black or the valet key (gray) work too? Im asking because the guy who put it in for me dosen't know, he wanted me to pay him extra 120 for the new key or i have to get it a local honda dealer.

I did not have the window module installed. There was no extra key required since they used a pkall bypass module.
