Problems with importing phonebook on an MDX
Problems with importing phonebook on an MDX
Hey Folks, I am new here with a question. I have a customer who bought a 2009 MDX and his Blackberry Curve 8310 (two years old) will not import the phonebook to his MDX with a tech package. Anyone have this problem before? Is it the service? What could it be? The car is a certified MDX with 9K miles on it. Let me know ! Thanks.

Followup to the above, it appears you can't import a phonebook to an MDX without Nav...I punched the car and phone info in at http://www.acura.com/handsfreelink.aspx
Please forgive me if I am wrong
. 2009 MDX with Tech package should have Navigation.
My understanding is there are two type of "phonebooks" available on our MDX with Nav. There is the "Contacts" list in the HFL and there is the "Phonebook" list in the NAV. system.
The "Contacts" list of the HFL requires you to input the name and number of your contacts individually using the HFL buttons on the steering wheel and voice commands. The "Phonebook" list of the Nav is much easier to import all your contacts at once(up to 1000 I think; bluetooth linked, "info", "import phonebook")
With the given link above and with that vehicle and phone combo, importing contacts to the "Contacts" list of the HFL is not available, but should be ok to import contacts to the "Phonebook" of the Navigation system.
As for my 07 MDX (Sport & Entertainment) and my Moto DroidX, both of the above options are available, but I choose to just import my contacts to the Nav, since manually importing one by one to the HFL is too much work
Lazy me.

I have the same phone and the 2008 tech/ent MDX. I have imported and deleted phone books several times. Few times, I have noticed that the import process fails with - not supported by the phone etc message. At that point, i turn off bluetooth, turn it back on and restart the import process. Try it and report back.
