Mirrors dipping when Backup

IIRC the mirrors on my wife's '07 MDX used to dip when we put it in reverse. They don't do that anymore. Is there something I'm missing - a setting or something? Or are they just broke?

TIA,
Tony

The mirror adjustment should be pointed to either the right or the left for them it dip, instead of being in the middle

Yup, what he said^ If not on my Tl there was a blown fuse cause by frozen water in the windshield washer spray. But try the mirror adjustment first

On my TL there is a setting that can be played with according to user settings and which memory key is used. Try that...

On our '01 it has to be in the middle for it to work, not on the right or left. Then it tilts down.

Maybe on the newer ones it is different.

Same with our 2003. One day my wife adjusted one of the mirrors and forgot to put the switch back to the middle position and the passenger side mirror didn't tilt downwards. Caught me off guard but I noticed the little switch right away. I find it's a good method to turn the mirror tilting feature off.

Everyone is right. First generation: switch in the middle, passenger side dips. Second generation switch on left, drivers side dips, right, passenger side. Center for off.

I guess this is why they supply a manual with each car that pertains to the car of that model year?

So you're saying you can choose which mirror you want to dip ? If that's so then great. I thought it was odd if only the passenger did, because if I'm parallel parking on the left side of the street, the right mirror dipping is of no use. I will move the lever.

Thanks,
Kristin

My 08 dips, but when I go back to drive, it stays down. I have to manually get it into the right position.

On my '03, the passenger side only dips, so I would always have to parallel park on the right side of the street.

That's wrong, something must be broken.

SYMPTOM
Either or both of the door mirrors have one or more of
these symptoms:
• After shifting out of R, the power mirror does not
return to its normal position

Take to the dealer and have them perform TSB 09-047
