Just bought a new 2011 CPO MDX ! Any advice for a new owner ?
Hi guys. My search for a nice CPO MDX is over ! I finally found a low mileage Grigio/Ebony with Tech at a good price and just bought it today and so far pretty damn happy with it. Anything I should check or watch out for on it ? It is certified for another 2 years bumper to bumper so I feel pretty safe if anything goes wrong.
By the way, question, I did notice some minor scratches on the back bumper and on the edge of the passenger side door that I didn't catch at the dealer. Can I ask them to fix that or am I SOL being I drove it off the lot ? This is pretty minor IMO but was just wondering. Love the Grigio color.

Youre probably sol from the dealer. Mine had scratches that I worked into the deal to be fixed. My fiancee and I bought 2 2011's and both are running just fine outside of a pulley change on mine. Congrats on the purchase!

Congrats on your new purchase! I also just purchased an used 11 at the start of the year and I really like this vehicle.
If the scratches are not too deep, a detail ship might be able to buff them out. It just depends if it is paint transfer from another vehicle, clear coat scratch, or down to the paint/metal.
I went ahead and changed most of the fluids and routine maint just to be on the safe side:
- changed to mobil 1 syn oil, 5W-20
- change 6AT fluid
- change sh-awd fluid
- flush brake fluid
- replace cabin air filter,FRAM CF10134 Fresh Breeze Cabin Air Filter
- replace air filter, K/N
- double checked alignment (rear was out of whack)
- new windshield wipers, front/back
- updated Navi info to latest version
- deleted all the map destinations/addresses, cell phones, and HHD music from previous owner
- took it to a detail shop to wash, wax and clean carpets
It looked like the person who owned it last just did minimal services and dealership car washes.
I also changed out my tires because I noticed there was a lot cracks on the sidewall close to the tread. I kept one of the OEM tires to use as a full size spare also. The only minor things I notice that wasn't working were:
- passenger side puddle lights were not working on door, and
- rear seat cup holder was stuck in close position (both fixed under warranty).

probably SOL...but doesn't hurt to ask to see what they can do for you.
nice color combo (i have an 09 with the gray/black combo)
as far as other things to look out for....depends on the car really. the MDX is pretty solid with few things that break.
i've had a number of things go bad on mine (nothing major), but the CPO took care of it. i wouldn't hesitate to buy the car again.
congrats! you still have your type-s?

got it. I'm not going to go too crazy over the scratches, I was just wondering if I *could* take it back. You have to REALLY look for the scratches as one is on the back bumper and the other is on the edge of the door.
I would say overall the truck is really, really clean. This is some of the the stuff they did per the carfax.
Maintenance inspection completed
Oil and filter changed
Four wheel alignment performed
Rear brake pads replaced and rotors resurfaced
Four tires mounted and balanced
Brakes checked
Rear brakes replaced
The new tires was a deciding factor for me. They are Goodyear Eagle LS2's, not my first choice of tire but more than adequate.
