Individual driver radio preset?
Sadly much of what Acura touts as features seem not to work. Especially where Acura Linc is concerned. In the big book there is a number to call for trouble with technical issues. It was in the telephone learning section.
Good luck figuring the radio out.

I don't think the system switches over until it is unlocked by the other key. If you unlock with key 1 it'll stay on the key1 settings until you unlock it with key 2. Then it'll use the key 2 settings. Just starting with key 2 without the unlock cycle leaves it on the driver 1 settings.

So heres the deal. Push the unlock button on key fob 1, and get in start the car and set your pre sets. Turn off the car and lock the door.
Now unlock the door with key fob 2 get in and start it then set driver 2's pre sets.
From this point on, which ever key fob unlocks the door (electronically, not key in the door method) will determine which pre sets you have.
Like Scottj said, it's the unlock button on the key fob that tells the car which driver is about to enter. Unless you hit the unlock button on the remote it has no idea which driver is getting in. The ignition has nothing to do with it.

Or the driver could press the driver 1 or 2 button inside the car, right ?

I don't believe so. The memory seat buttons only work on the seats, outside mirrors and steering column on the MDX. It would definitely change over the seating positions, but I don't believe the other "keyless memory settings" would change.
So I tried everything, but no luck. All other presets are working fine (seats, mirrors, climate, etc.) but not the radio. Maybe some misadvertising from Acura? Has anyone actually gotten this feature to work?
I haven't tried it, so I'm not doubting you, but: is it just me or does that not make any sense from an engineering standpoint ?
It works fine in our 2008 MDX and my 2005 RL. Same rules seem to apply for both.

The driver 1 and 2 buttons on the door are convenient way for husband and wife to switch driving duties while out with only one set of keys. For example husband and wife go out for dinner and husband drives there. Husband proceeds to have 6 long island ice teas while at dinner so wife is going to drive home. All she has to do to get her seat position set is push the button on the door.
I would guess that they could make it so the memory seat buttons would change all keyless memory settings instead of just the seat position but again, I'm no engineer.
This is exactly what we tried with no luck.

Is the memory seating working properly? When you unlock the doors with the key fob does the MID say "welcome" or "welcome driver 1"?
If it is just saying "welcome", your remotes are not linked to the car. To relink the remote (or unlink if they already are linked), you hold unlock and lock down on the key fob at the same time. You will see the little red light on the fob blink.
Now unlock the car again and get in. It should now be saying "welcome driver 1" (or driver 2 depending on which keys you are using).
The feature definitely works, if you can't get it to work it's either user error or an issue with your car.

Memory seating works fine - We get the welcome driver 1 & 2 as applicable- nav shows driver 1 or 2 as applicable - seats adjust, mirrors adjust, climate adjusts, lighting settings adject, etc. Everything works but the radio presets.

Long shot here but....
On your radio screen does it say "asel" anywhere? I'm wondering if you have used (inadvertantly) the auto select feature for radio presets. If it does say "asel" somewhere on the radio screen, push the auto select button again (which will make the icon go away). Once this is done, try setting the presets as advised in the above posts.
I'm not sure if using the autoselect feature stops the ability to have individual driver presets but it wouldn't surprise me if it did. FWIW the feature is designed so if you have your local presets locked in and then drive out of your normal area so you can no longer listen to your normal stations. In this situation, you hit the auto select button and the radio scans through all the AM and FM frequencies then locks in presets that come in clear (and brings the "asel" icon up on the screen). When you get back into the range of your regular presets you hit the auto select button gain and it brings back your original local presets.
